我们的使命

In keeping with the academic mission of the institution, the Division of 学生事务 exists to provide student-focused programs and services that support student success and enhance the student experience at 圣何塞州立大学 University. Our aim is to create critical student learning opportunities beyond the classrooms that support the intellectual, personal, and civic growth of our 学生.

The Division of 学生事务 directly contributes to student success by assisting our 学生 to develop a sense of belonging and community on campus while providing important support to augment their experience in the classroom.

Our core values are what we stand for as employees and professionals in the field of 学生事务 at 圣何塞州立大学 University. These six values—学习, Student Success, 卓越, 完整性, 多样性, and 社区—are reflected in the many programs and services we offer our 学生 and the campus community.

Our values guide us as we carry out our mission and the vision of the institution:

  • We value education above all. The academic freedom of faculty and 学生 is vital to our role of promoting life-long learning. We recognize learning takes place both in and out of the classroom and strongly support the educational mission of the institution and the integration of theory and practice, scholarship and application.

  • Our highest priority is to ensure our 学生’ success. We provide highly successful programs that complement in-class learning and enhance the college experience of our 学生. The success of our 学生 is our success!

Within the Division of 学生事务 are three units that are essential to supporting 学生 by providing programs and services to enhance the student experiences at 圣何塞州立大学. 教育al opportunities exist beyond the classroom, and our units are dedicated toward bringing those opportunities to 学生. 

• 校园生活

  • Our 校园生活 unit exists to integrate 学生 into the 菠菜网lol正规平台 community and provide experiences for them to discover who they want to be. This unit plans signature events like Weeks of Welcome and the Spartan Speaker Series. 校园生活 also encompasses Student 住房, the Student Union, and student organizations.

• 学生的成功

  • The 学生的成功 unit exists to ensure that 学生 have support in reaching their 学习目标. It provides high-impact programs and resources to assist 学生 in their development. Within the 学生的成功 unit, there are also identity-based success centers, where 学生 can receive individualized support.

• Health, Wellness and Student Services

  • Our Health, Wellness and Student Services unit exists to support 学生 in maintaining a foundation of well-being. This foundation is essential as it gives 学生 the confidence to learn more about who they are and build upon their strengths. 的职业 Center is also a vital part of the unit, providing 学生 with access to career opportunities; and the team at 菠菜网lol正规平台在乎 is dedicated to provding basic needs to 学生.
