New 教师 Onboarding

The Center for 教师 Development offers programming to support orientation and onboarding of new tenure-track and lecturer faculty.

 

Jump Start, our onboarding programming for new tenure-track faculty, consists of 3 phases, each of which is required: 

• Phase 1: Online - July 22 to August 2. Asynchronous modules in Canvas, our learning management system, will encourage you to interact with each other as you reflect on your journey to this point and become familiar with 菠菜网lol正规平台’s organizational culture.
• Phase 2: In Person - August 5 to August 9. This week runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily and explores key resources essential to establishing a foundation for success at 菠菜网lol正规平台. Please note: There is a reception for new faculty at the President's house on the evening of August 9 to close out the week.
• Phase 3: Wednesday Workshops - August 28 to December 4. These meetings take place every Wednesday from 12-1:15 pm and will introduce you to additional campus resources and communities. The first Wednesday of each month is organized by your college leadership team (Dean and Associate Deans).

New Lecturer Welcome

New lecturer faculty will be invited to a synchronous welcome meeting on Monday, August 19 from 1:00 - 4:00pm. The orientation includes sessions with University Personnel and representatives from the California 教师 Association, and will be recorded with those who register.  You can also access a collection of online, asynchronous support materials in Canvas, our learning management system.
